Without the loss of a single game, she accounted for Guatemala’s Andrea Montufar and El Salvador’s Yancy Urias.
Similarly, Mabelyn Enriquez was in form.
She recorded a four games win (matches in the qualification stage being best of five games) over compatriot, Michelle Lee before accounting for Trinidad and Tobago’s Catherine Spicer in three straight games.

Guatemala’s fourth seeded Eva Godoy was beaten by colleague, Hellen Salazar whilst likewise fifth seed, Nury Vasquez suffered at the hands of a Guatemalan team mate.
She was beaten by Analdy Lopez.

Both Analdy Lopez and Hellen Salazar completed the first phase matches unbeaten with Eva Godoy and Nury Vasquez securing second place and thus progressed to the main draw.
